The term MDA is another name for microdermabrasion. It is a skin polishing procedure done with a highly advanced machine designed to gently exfoliate the dead skin, giving a much smoother skin.
Crystal MDA is performed using a medical-grade, highly purified aluminium oxide crystal powder. This results in considerably brighter and smoother skin after undergoing the procedure by exfoliating the dead skin cells in a very mild and soothing pattern. A suitable face mask with or without infusion and sunscreen as necessary is then applied as post-care.
MDA, done with the use of a diamond tip probe for derma-abrasion, is used to remove lichenified or thick skin. Diamond MDA is performed on the entire body or on the hands and legs, where the skin is typically thick and needs vigorous exfoliation.
A moisturising cream, serum, or lotion best suited to the skin type is then applied after that.
Post procedure
A serum, lotion or cream containing hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, collagen, vitamin E, vital enzymes produced from plants, or a mix of other peptides is applied to seal the effects of the treatment.
Home care
Although there is no significant downtime or recovery period after the procedure, it is still important to avoid prolonged or excessive sun exposure and to continue applying sunscreen or moisturiser as directed by the physician.
